VocabLogs ("the App") is an AI-powered vocabulary learning application. The developer ("we") prioritizes user privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in the App.

2. Information We Collect

The App is designed to maximize user privacy.

• No account required: No registration or sign-up is needed to use the App.
• Local data only: Vocabulary data, learning progress, and settings are stored entirely on your device (IndexedDB / localStorage).
• No personal information collected: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, location data, or any other personal information.
• Device identifier: A random identifier (UUID) is generated and stored on your device for app functionality, but it is never transmitted externally.
• No analytics: We do not use any analytics or advertising tracking tools.

3. Camera, Microphone & Photo Library

The App may request access to the following device features:

• Camera: Used to capture text for AI-powered vocabulary extraction (OCR).
• Photo Library: Used to select images containing text for vocabulary extraction.
• Microphone: Used for pronunciation checking.
• Speech Recognition: Used to recognize spoken words and evaluate pronunciation accuracy.

Captured images and recorded audio are processed on-device or used solely for analysis by the AI service described below. This data is not permanently stored.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Google Gemini API: Used for vocabulary extraction, auto-fill definitions, example sentence generation, text translation, and OCR. Only text or image data explicitly submitted by the user is processed. No personal information or device identifiers are transmitted.
• Cloudflare Workers: Used as a proxy server to securely manage API keys. Cloudflare may process request metadata (such as IP addresses) in accordance with its privacy policy.

5. Data Storage & Deletion

• All learning data is stored exclusively on your device. No user data exists on any server.
• You can export (back up) your data in JSON format from the Settings screen.
• Deleting the App will erase all data stored on your device.
• You can also clear the App's data individually through your device settings.

6. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App does not require account registration and is designed not to collect personally identifiable information.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as needed. If significant changes are made, we will notify users through app updates. Please check the "Last updated" date on this page periodically.
